Welcome to the REALISE IT Network Web-site
The REALISE IT Network is central Londons IT reuse
and recycling scheme.
We have two main aims: to reduce the
amount of IT equipment disposed of to landfill and in other, environmentally damaging
and wasteful ways, and to increase access to IT within the project area.
We operate in Lambeth, Southwark,
Westminster and the Corporation
of London. Find out more in the 'What is REALISE_'
section of this site.
REALISE will cease operation in September 2004. During
this last phase we're concentrating on disseminating all the knowledge we've gained
delivering the project. We'll be making reports, evaluations and 'how-to' guides
available for download from this site, and we'll be holding a large dissemination
event in late August - further details available soon.
Throughout the project's operation we have actively sought other organisations
who share our aims, and explored where we can work together to develop new services,
or enhance and optimise existing provision. Our project may be coming to an end,
but we want the relationships and services developed to continue to give benefit.
Also, we have built up a substantial collection of information resources that
we want to share.
We're going to use the dissemination process to get as much
as possible into the public arena, but if your organisation can see areas of work
you could take over, or if you feel our experiences can be of any help, or if
you have suggestions and advice please get in touch. Contact .
In the meantime we are still delivering services. Check out our latest project, a collaboration with charity U Can Do I.T. to provide free computers to people with disabilities. Find out more here.
Thanks for visiting our site!
